Taking things for granted is modern’s society’s biggest disease. Look around you, and you will see beauty no matter where you are. Even when you are in a barren place, you can train yourself to spot the positives rather than the negatives.
You might think – being extremely positive is naïve. Maybe. But look at how you see the world now. Are you sure that you haven’t gone too far the other way? That you see the bird poop rather than the birds singing. That you feel sweaty rather than the delicate touch of the sun’s rays on your skin. That the streets are too busy rather than enjoying society being out and about.
How does this link to improving yourself? Your vibe.
When you are in a positive vibe, you make people smile, you share interesting stories, you stay in the moment and enjoy what is in-front of you rather than being in your head, people are enchanted by you. And since you cannot accomplish everything in life on your own, the more you can enchant people with your vibe, the easier success will come.
Not only that, but when you have this vibe, setbacks don’t hurt you as much. They don’t slow you down. You learn your lesson and move on. If you focus on the negative, then you will ask why me, why now, how could this happen and so on. But those questions are pointless and excuses for procrastination.
If you really want to maximise your productivity. Have breaks where you go on walks or do activities where you force yourself to be present and look for moments of joy. Enjoy the wind breeze. Feel every step, every sound. It may sound weird and cliché, but when you open yourself to the world, the world becomes your playground. Laugh with it – be okey of being crazy in public. People don’t care – most of them are also plagued by this disease and are too busy being in their head to even see you be free.
In the past week, I set myself a challenge to drink only water for 4 days. No food, no tea, nothing but water. It’s weird when you start to ignore the calls of hunger, it starts to become a feeling that’s just there. In the end, I only managed to last 3 days but the sensation of feeling that first bite of food? It really was spectacular.
Having cleared my mind with this challenge, productivity is through the roof and a touch of craziness has been yet again added to my life. You don’t have to do a water fast, just find you way to connect with your positive vibe and see the difference it makes in your relationships with people and your life.
